Lost Ruins of Arnak (EN)

Arnak combines deck-building with worker placement: you use cards both for their effect and to send your explorers to locations. As you explore the island, more powerful spots become available, yielding more resources and artifacts, but also costing more. You only take one action per turn, making timing crucial, especially since others can take your desired spot. You build a compact deck that you constantly improve with equipment and artifacts, and manage resources to pay for discovery tiles or defeat guardians. The player with the most points after five rounds wins.

Lost Ruins of Arnak is a modern classic: elegant, strategic, and surprisingly accessible despite its depth. The combination of deck-building and worker placement works excellently, giving you multiple appealing options each turn. The sense of adventure is well-captured thanks to the polished design, the variable setup, and the excitement of each new discovery. For anyone looking for a game that appeals to both families and experienced players, this is one of the strongest choices of recent years.
