What is the game about?

You are the head of a family in an Italian city-state, a city ruled by a weak and corrupt court. You must manipulate, bluff, and bribe your way to power. Your goal is to destroy the influence of all the other families and force them into exile. Only one family will survive…

How do you play the game?

In Coup, you always start with two cards in front of you on the table, each of which represents your "influence." Each turn, you may take on the role of a character and perform their action. However, you may challenge any other player at any time if there is any doubt about whether you actually have that character. If you don't, you lose one of your characters (influence); if you do, the challenger loses an influence. If you have to discard both cards, you lose. The last player alive wins the game.

This is the ideal game for...
