Flamecraft Duals

In Flamecraft Duals, each turn you draw a dragon from the bag and place it on an empty space on the shared board or on top of other dragons, forming a stack up to three high. Then you can activate that dragon's firecraft, which allows you to draw additional dragons or move dragons on the board — sometimes leading to delightful chain reactions. Subsequently, you score a shop card from your hand when a group of three dragons on the board exactly matches the pattern on that card. Optional modules add fancy dragons with player powers and fountains with shared scoring opportunities. Once the bag is empty, the game ends and the player with the most points wins.

Flamecraft Duals is embraced by reviewers as one of the coziest games currently available, and as a surprisingly fresh successor that doesn't merely copy the original but creates its own unique puzzle. Critics praise the fast, puzzle-like pace: a game can be played in under half an hour, yet its tactical depth rewards those who play more often and learn to read the board better. The rare double dragons, in particular, are a highlight — each time one comes out of the bag, it feels like a small celebration. The thick, tactile wooden dragons and the clear player aids are also regularly lauded. Anyone looking for a compact, atmospheric, yet challenging duel experience will find exactly what they're looking for here.
