What is the game about?

In Furnace, you step into the world of 19th-century industrialists who build and optimize their own factories. New production lines, raw materials, and machines constantly appear on the market, but you can only acquire the right cards through fierce auctions. You build your factory layer by layer into a well-oiled production machine that becomes more efficient each round. The game is full of growth, optimization, and industrial power – ideal for those who love systems that fit together better and better.

How do you play the game?

The game consists of four rounds in which players bid on new factory cards with disks of value 1-4. You may never bid the same value as another player on the same card, and you may not bid twice on the same card. The winner receives the card, while the losers receive compensating resources, which are sometimes even more valuable than winning. Then everyone builds their cards in order and activates their entire production chain, with each choice affecting the next. After four rounds, the player with the most money wins.

How is the game experienced?

Furnace is a slick and addictive puzzle game that provides a strong sense of growth and optimization. The auction is exciting because losing sometimes turns out better than winning, and the production phases feel like a small logistical victory every time everything falls perfectly into place. It plays smoothly, looks beautiful, and offers plenty of variety thanks to the different characters. The only downside is that it sometimes ends too quickly, especially for those who like to tinker with their engine for longer.
