What is the game about?

Somewhere in the Italian hills, where the sun shines low over the olive trees and every farmer swears by their own breed, rivalry buzzes. The Livornese, the Padovana, the Siciliana: each breed has its pride, its uniqueness, and its place in the pecking order. With this expansion, the breeder trades their familiar breeds for three authentic Italian varieties, in the same color coding as the original cards. The coop takes on a different character, the objective cards present new challenges, and the competition for the most beautiful stable gains an Italian flair.

How do you play the game?

This expansion is not a standalone game; you need the Hens base game. It includes cards for three new Italian chicken breeds that completely replace the original breeds, with the same color coding for seamless integration. Additionally, it contains two new objective cards that provide extra variation and different end-game scoring goals. These objective cards can also be combined with the breeds from the base game.

This is the ideal game for...

You can play this game with 1 to 4 players, from 10 years old. The duration is approximately 20 to 30 minutes. The language of the game is Dutch, but you can play the game completely language independent.

You can always find more information on BoardameGeek.

How is the game experienced?

A compact but well-thought-out expansion that gives the base game a fresh layer without touching the familiar mechanisms. The new Italian breeds offer a different look on the table, and the two extra objective cards significantly increase replayability. For those who are already familiar with the base game, this is a logical and accessible addition that costs little but adds a lot. Thanks to the existing color coding, you don't have to learn anything new.
