What is the game about?

The Clone Wars rage across the galaxy. Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano, and their allies race from planet to planet as Count Dooku's and the Separatists' armies stack up. Each invasion brings new droid battalions and blockades, and when a planet becomes too heavily occupied, it risks falling completely. But the Jedi are not alone—tactical consultations, clever movements across the galaxy, and completing crucial missions can turn the tide. Until the final confrontation with the villain arrives.

How do you play the game?

Each player sends a Jedi with a unique skill across the board of 30 Clone Wars planets. On your turn, you perform four actions: move, fight droids with a d12, break blockades, or complete missions. Combat is augmented by Squad Cards that can be exhausted for extra damage or protection. After each turn, invasion cards deploy new droids on planets and move the villain across the board. Whoever sees the threat counter rise to seven or runs out of droids in reserve loses; whoever completes all missions and defeats the villain in their finale wins.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is one of the most atmospheric Pandemic variants to date — the miniatures of seven Jedi, four villains, and 36 droids literally bring the board to life, and every card refers to specific characters and vehicles from The Clone Wars series. The dice combat system adds a tactical element that distinguishes the formula from the original. Reviewers are enthusiastic about the presentation and thematic fidelity but also point out a relatively low difficulty compared to other Pandemic titles. However, as a gift recommendation for Clone Wars fans or Pandemic enthusiasts, it is an excellent choice.
