What is the game about?

Pokémon Splendor combines the strategic framework of Splendor with the world of Pokémon. You collect Poké Balls to catch and evolve Pokémon, with the goal of becoming the ultimate Pokémon Master. The evolution mechanic and Master Balls add a layer not found in the original game, making it noticeably more playful.

How do you play the game?

During your turn, you can collect Poké Balls, catch a Pokémon, or reserve a Pokémon. If you collect Poké Balls, you take either three Poké Balls of different colors, or two of the same color. If you catch a Pokémon, you pay its cost in Poké Balls and add it to your collection; each caught Pokémon provides you with a permanent Poké Ball of a specific color, bringing stronger Pokémon within reach over time. If you reserve a Pokémon for later, you lose a turn but get a Master Ball in return. The first player to collect 18 points wins the game.

This is the ideal game for...

You can play this game with 2 to 4 players, from 8 years old. The duration is approximately 30 minutes. The language of the game is Korean, but you can play it completely language independent.

You can always find more information on BoardgameGeek.

How is the game experienced?

Pokémon Splendor builds on the familiar Splendor engine but adds a nostalgic theme and a fun evolution mechanic that make the game just a bit deeper and more playful. It retains the same smooth flow and accessible rules but feels more thematic thanks to the first 151 Pokémon and the character cards. The execution and atmosphere score high, and the gameplay remains as fast, tactical, and addictive as in the original. Highly recommended for both Splendor fans and Pokémon enthusiasts.
