What is the game about?

Water changes everything. Where in a dry landscape you'd simply take the shortest route, here you have to contend with rivers cutting through your terrain and lakes suddenly blocking your path. What seems like an obstacle, on closer inspection, turns out to be an opportunity: a well-placed river connects corners of your map that would otherwise be unreachable. Round after round, a landscape emerges where roads, tracks, and water seek each other out instead of hindering one another.

How do you play the game?

In Railroad Ink, you try to create an efficient and elegant transportation system on an empty landscape. With each roll, new roads, tracks, and intersections appear, which you must neatly fit into your grid to best connect all the board's exits. As your network grows, a web of paths slowly emerges, requiring your creativity, spatial awareness, and planning. The game feels like building a small transport or rail empire in just a few minutes.

You can play this game with 1 to 6 players, from 8 years old. The duration is approximately 30 minutes. The language of the game is English, but you can play it completely language independent.

How is the game experienced?

The blue edition is the classic of the series and the most balanced entry point. The river and lake modules are optional, allowing you to grow the game with your group: first the bare basics, then the extra layers. Because everyone draws simultaneously, there is no waiting time and the box plays just as smoothly with six as with two. Its size also makes it easy to take with you.
