What is the game about?

In Skull King, you enter a pirate world full of sirens, escape cards, pirates, and of course, the dreaded Skull King himself. Each round feels like a gamble on the high seas: will you dare to claim many tricks, or will you duck and try to take zero for a big bonus? Thanks to the mix of numbered cards and powerful special characters, a battle unfolds where winning and losing tricks is equally exciting.

How do you play the game?

Each round, players receive the same number of cards as their round number and simultaneously predict how many tricks they will win. The cards are then played according to classic trick rules, but special cards like Pirates, Mermaid, Skull King, and Escapes completely change the game. You must take exactly your predicted number of tricks: too many or too few results in penalty points. After ten rounds, the player with the most points wins, including any bonus points for special captures.

This is the ideal game for...

You can play this game with 2 to 8 players, from 8 years old. The duration is approximately 30 minutes. The language of the game is Dutch, but you can play it completely language independent.

You can always find more information on BoardgameGeek.

How is the game experienced?

Skull King is loud, chaotic, and full of moments that will make everyone jump out of their seats. The simultaneous bidding creates bluffing duels that make every round feel different. The special cards put a twist on the classic trick-taking formula, meaning even a lost trick can suddenly be worth gold. Ideal for families and groups of friends who enjoy fast-paced card games with lots of interaction.
