What is the game about?

Far, far away, a war rages that determines the fate of the entire galaxy. The Rebel Alliance fights with courage and cunning against the overwhelming resources of the Galactic Empire. Refugee transports evade TIE fighters, Luke Skywalker trains his powers, and Darth Vader personally leads his fleet of Star Destroyers to the front. On the table are the cards of the Outer Rim: each turn, the battle revolves around who can take the strongest positions, who draws the Force to their side, and who first shoots down three of the opponent's bases.

How do you play the game?

Both players begin with a unique ten-card starting deck and take turns buying cards from a central row of six — but you can only buy your own faction cards and neutral cards, while you can attack opponents' cards to destroy them and gain rewards. Capital ships absorb damage for your base; when a base is destroyed, you choose a replacement with a special ability. A tug-of-war power track gives additional resources or activates special card abilities. The first player to destroy three enemy bases wins.

How is the game experienced?

Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game is a tight and accessible two-player duel that strongly evokes Star Realms but distinguishes itself with its asymmetrical factions, attacking the card market, and the power track. Reviewers highlight the high interactivity and smooth pacing as major advantages, and the Rebel/Empire asymmetry provides a different but balanced gameplay experience. Those who already own Star Realms will recognize similarities, but the thematic execution and basic structure give the game its own identity.
