What is the game about?

In the desert of the Tuareg people, the Targi—the men with shrouded faces—are the ones who conduct trade and represent the tribe. You lead one such tribe, traveling along caravan routes in search of dates, salt, pepper, and gold to acquire prestigious tribal cards. As families grow and new tents spring up, you strive to become the most prosperous and influential tribe in the region.

How do you play the game?

The game board consists of a 5x5 grid: 16 fixed action spaces on the edge and 9 variable cards in the center. Each round, players take turns placing a Targi meeple on the edge—never in the same space as their opponent, and never opposite an opponent's meeple. The intersections of your placed meeples determine which center cards you receive, while the edge spaces grant immediate actions. Using the collected goods, you play Tribe cards in a 3x4 grid, where both card values and row combinations score points. After a fixed number of rounds, the player with the most victory points wins.

This is the ideal game for...

You can play this game with 2 to 2 players, from 10 years old. The duration is approximately 60 minutes. The language of the game is Dutch.

How is the game experienced?

Targi is a masterpiece of the two-player genre: tight, thematic, and full of delightful choices. The combination of placement rules and intersection cards creates constant tension and planning—one wrong meeple can change your entire turn. The tribe cards slowly build an engine that becomes satisfyingly stronger with each round. The game offers enormous depth in a short playtime and remains captivating time after time thanks to clever variation and strong interaction.
