Unmatched Marvel: Brains & Brawn

Unmatched is an asymmetrical card-driven skirmish game where each hero has their own deck that reflects their style and powers. On your turn, you move your hero across the board and play cards from your hand to attack or defend; combat is resolved without dice, purely through card values. Each hero also has a passive ability: Spider-Man's spider-sense reveals attack values, Doctor Strange maintains his hand size but has low health, and She-Hulk is a heavy hitter with tactical depth. This is a standalone game that is also fully combinable with all other Unmatched sets.

Brains and Brawn concludes the Marvel series of Unmatched with three heroes who each feel distinctly recognizable. She-Hulk and Doctor Strange are widely praised as thematically well-developed and tactically satisfying, with She-Hulk particularly standing out for her combination of brute strength and strategic nuance. The Sanctum Sanctorum game board, with its battlefield tokens, offers clear objectives, making it accessible for those unfamiliar with the system. The illustrations by three different artists give each character their own visual identity. For existing fans, this is a worthy conclusion; for newcomers, an excellent entry point.
