What is the game about?

Hell's Kitchen never sleeps. Above the district's grimy streets, the city hums, but below, scores are settled with sticks, sai, and precisely thrown projectiles. Matt Murdock navigates the darkness with his radar sense, counting his small deck like a lawyer weighing every word. Bullseye has always known where his target stands—and always planned to be there. And Elektra? Elektra doesn't die. She returns, more dangerous than ever, with powers that only unleash after her opponent already believed her dead. Welcome to Hell's Kitchen.

How do you play the game?

Unmatched is an asymmetric card-driven combat game where each hero has a unique deck that reflects their style. On your turn, you perform two actions: maneuver (draw a card and move your fighters) or play a card as an attack or scheme; attacks are resolved without dice through card values. Daredevil plays with a small deck and grows stronger as his hand empties; Bullseye is a ranged attacker who can attack up to five spaces away and snowballs with consecutive victories; Elektra must be defeated twice, with a large portion of her deck only becoming fully active after her resurrection. This is a standalone game, fully combinable with all other Unmatched sets.

How is the game experienced?

Hell's Kitchen is widely praised as one of the most mechanically inventive sets in the Unmatched series, with three characters each introducing a fundamentally different way of playing. Elektra's double death mechanism is particularly original and creates a very different arc of tension than in other sets. Bullseye breaks the standard rules for ranged attackers in a way that reviewers describe as thematic and tactically refreshing. The card art by Oliver Barrett and Ian O'Toole is atmospheric and recognizable, although some reviewers mention the card back designs as being less iconic than other sets. For Daredevil fans and Unmatched collectors, this is an obvious addition.
